WOB-L® Piston Pumps and Compressors

Thomas piston pumps utilize proprietary WOB-L® pump technology from Gardner Denver. WOB-L® piston pumps can provide higher pressure and flow capabilities than many other pump technologies, in a much smaller package. They cover a wide range of applications due to the breadth of product platforms and performance capability.

Flow rates range from 5.4 l/min (0.19 cfm) to 212.4 l/min (7.5 cfm). The pneumatic performance covers pressures up to 12 bar (175 psi) and vacuum levels up to -990 mbar (29.2 in.Hg). Various motor options address lifetime requirements.

How WOB-L® Piston Pump and Compressors Work?
The WOB-L® piston pumps are dry running reciprocating pumps. They convert the rotary motor’s energy into the piston's linear motion within the pump cylinder. The piston rod is mounted to an eccentric bearing assembly attached to the motor shaft.A rod/eccentric assembly that rotates about the shaft causes the piston end to tip or wobble, providing the origins for the trademark name. To compensate for the ‘wobbling’ and increase the pump's efficiency, the piston is sealed to the pump cylinder. It’s sealed by a flanged disk cup that forms both axial and radial seal along with a mechanical guide for the piston.
